(…) The imagination is thus unlimited. Childish and adult alternate. A giraffe eats songs, and a barn is full of tigers. There are no moral lectures here, so “he who takes, he has.” But the thieves are still goodhearted. In my view the best bits were the music, songs and acting. Clever use was made of the large orchestra, not least the percussion and pop band with electric guitar and synthesizer. And the car horn piece is an unparalleled showstopper. Olle Persson, Susanne Végh and Ketil Hugaas never slacken their pace, alternating between singing and speaking, and they play their roles well. And as Gustav the Thief, Niklas Björling-Rygert has a dream part – tough and self-assured but also so suddenly and completely in love with the parrot that he begins to fly.
